A1 · Lição 6: Presente Contínuo e Horas
Objetivos da lição
- Usar o presente contínuo (present continuous) para ações acontecendo agora
- Dizer as horas em inglês
- Diferenciar presente simples x presente contínuo
Explicação
1. Presente contínuo (Present Continuous)
Usado para ações que estão acontecendo neste momento ou em um período temporário.
Estrutura: sujeito + to be + verbo + ing
| Pronome | To be | Verbo+ing |
|---|---|---|
| I | am | working |
| You/We/They | are | working |
| He/She/It | is | working |
I am studying English now. → Eu estou estudando inglês agora. She is watching TV. → Ela está assistindo TV. They are playing football. → Eles estão jogando futebol.
Negativa: to be + not + verbo-ing
He isn't sleeping. → Ele não está dormindo.
Interrogativa: to be + sujeito + verbo-ing?
Are you listening to me? → Você está me escutando?
Regras de ortografia do -ing:
| Regra | Exemplo |
|---|---|
| Geral: + ing | play → playing |
| Termina em "e" muda: tira o "e" | make → making, write → writing |
| Vogal curta + consoante: dobra a consoante | run → running, sit → sitting |
| Termina em "ie": muda para "y" + ing | die → dying |
2. Presente simples x Presente contínuo
| Presente Simples | Presente Contínuo |
|---|---|
| Rotina, hábito, fato geral | Ação acontecendo agora, temporária |
| I work every day. | I am working right now. |
| She lives in Brazil. | She is living in the US this year (temporário). |
Palavras-chave do contínuo: now, right now, at the moment, look!, listen!
Verbos que geralmente NÃO usam contínuo (verbos de estado): like, love, hate, know, understand, want, need, believe
Certo: I want a coffee. Errado: I am wanting a coffee.
