A2 · Lição 2: Passado Contínuo, Comparativos e Superlativos
Objetivos da lição
- Usar o passado contínuo (past continuous)
- Combinar passado simples e contínuo
- Formar comparativos e superlativos
Explicação
Estrutura: sujeito + was/were + verbo-ing
| Pronome | To be (passado) |
|---|---|
| I/He/She/It | was |
| You/We/They | were |
I was studying at 8 pm yesterday. → Eu estava estudando às 8h ontem. They were playing football when it started to rain. → Eles estavam jogando futebol quando começou a chover.
I was watching TV when the phone rang. → Eu estava assistindo TV quando o telefone tocou.
While she was cooking, he was setting the table. → Enquanto ela estava cozinhando, ele estava arrumando a mesa. (duas ações simultâneas → while + contínuo)
Palavras-chave: when (+ passado simples), while (+ passado contínuo)
3. Comparativos (Comparatives)
|---|---|---|
| Curto (1 sílaba) | + er | tall → taller, big → bigger |
| Termina em "y" | y → ier | happy → happier |
| Longo (2+ sílabas) | more + adjetivo | expensive → more expensive |
| Irregulares | decorar | good → better, bad → worse, far → farther/further |
This car is faster than that one. → Este carro é mais rápido que aquele. She is more intelligent than him. → Ela é mais inteligente que ele. This book is better than the movie. → Este livro é melhor que o filme.
4. Superlativos (Superlatives)
|---|---|---|
| Curto | the + adj + est | tall → the tallest |
| Termina em "y" | the + y→i + est | happy → the happiest |
| Longo | the most + adjetivo | expensive → the most expensive |
| Irregulares | decorar | good → the best, bad → the worst |
Everest is the highest mountain in the world. → O Everest é a montanha mais alta do mundo. This is the most expensive restaurant in the city.
5. As...as (igualdade)
She is as tall as her brother. → Ela é tão alta quanto o irmão. This isn't as difficult as I thought.
