A2 · Lição 5: Substantivos Contáveis/Incontáveis e Quantificadores

Objetivos da lição

  • Diferenciar substantivos contáveis e incontáveis
  • Usar some, any, much, many, a lot of, a little, a few

Explicação

2. Some e Any

Uso Palavra Exemplo
Frases afirmativas some I have some apples. / I have some money.
Frases negativas any I don't have any apples.
Perguntas any Do you have any apples?
Pedidos/ofertas (pergunta) some Would you like some coffee? (exceção: quando esperamos "sim")

3. Much, Many, A lot of

Quantidade Contável Incontável
Muito(a)(s), afirmativa many / a lot of much / a lot of
Muito(a)(s), negativa/pergunta many much

I have many friends. / I have a lot of friends. → contável I don't have much time. / How much money do you have? → incontável She doesn't have many books. → contável, negativa

Em frases afirmativas, "a lot of" é mais comum e natural do que much/many (que soam mais formais nesse contexto).

4. A little e A few

Quantidade Contável Incontável
Pouco(a)(s), pouco, mas suficiente a few a little
Pouco(a)(s), quase nada (negativo) few little

I have a few friends here. → Eu tenho alguns amigos aqui (poucos, mas ok). I have a little money. → Eu tenho um pouco de dinheiro (suficiente). She has few friends. → Ela tem poucos amigos (quase nenhum, sentido negativo).

5. Substantivos incontáveis comuns

water, milk, coffee, tea, rice, bread, cheese, meat, sugar, salt, money, information, advice, furniture, news, homework, luggage, traffic
