- Ampliar o vocabulário latinizado típico do inglês formal
Explicação
|---|---|
| decide | decision |
| fail | failure |
| analyze | analysis |
| responsible | responsibility |
| available | availability |
| implement | implementation |
| aware | awareness |
Informal/direto: We decided to implement the policy because it is important. Nominalizado/formal: The decision to proceed with the implementation of the policy was based on the importance of the matter.
Hereinafter referred to as "the Parties" → doravante referidas como "as Partes" Notwithstanding the foregoing → não obstante o exposto acima The undersigned hereby agrees... → O abaixo-assinado, por meio deste, concorda... In witness whereof → em testemunho do que Null and void → nulo e sem efeito Pursuant to clause 4.2... → nos termos da cláusula 4.2...
3. Estilo acadêmico
It has been argued that... (em vez de "Some people say...") The findings suggest a correlation between X and Y. This paper aims to examine... A growing body of literature indicates that... The aforementioned data, when analyzed critically, reveal...
4. Estilo diplomático (evitar afirmações diretas)
It is with regret that we must inform you... We would respectfully request that you reconsider... Concerns have been raised regarding... A range of views was expressed during the discussion. (evita dizer quem discordou)
|---|---|
| find out | ascertain |
| show | demonstrate |
| start | commence |
| end | terminate |
| ask | inquire |
| help | assist / facilitate |
| buy | procure |
| about | regarding / concerning |
| enough | sufficient |
| let | permit |
This Agreement, entered into by and between the Parties hereinafter referred to as "Client" and "Provider," shall, notwithstanding any prior arrangement, govern the terms set forth herein. Pursuant to Clause 3, either Party may terminate this Agreement forthwith, provided that written notice is given.
